BIO
Robert teaches basic/intermediate drum set - Pop, Rock, Contemporary,  Praise and Worship, Etc., and rudimentary snare drum.

Robert has been with Mansfield Music Mentors for 4+ years, and has been playing drums and percussion for over 40 years, including 15 years at a local church- engaged in primary contemporary worship music. Robert can also be found “subbing” with local bands when their regular drummer is out. He enjoys getting new students engaged on a journey into percussion, as well as helping more advanced musicians explore new techniques and concepts. A retired professional firefighter, he also enjoys storm chasing, photography, and community service

Aaron 'AC' Capers

DRUM SET & PERCUSSION

BIO

Aaron ‘AC’ Capers is a local musician who specializes in the Percussive Arts.  The son of a bass guitarist (Joseph Capers), and a vocalist (Gayla Capers).  He has a background in the marching arts performing with the Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corp (2008) and taught the Revolution from 2009-2011, and the Crossmen in 2012.  He also marched WGI with Surround Sound Percussion from 2005-2008.  

Since departing from the professional marching side of things he taught at a bevy of high schools around the DFW metroplex and performing with the Dallas Mavericks Drumline, Cowboys R&B Drumline, The Cutting Edge Haunted House Performing Groups as a member of Dynamic Rhythm Entertainment, and the FC Dallas Drumline.  

He also drums in a couple of different local bands Justin Ross and Deadwood Revival, Further North, and the W/ No Name Project. He also serves as a freelancer for those in need of live drumming and percussion entertainment.  

 

Teaching kids to do what I currently do is a passion, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to teach “Life Studies through the Art of Percussion”.

Aaron Goins

DRUM SET & PERCUSSION

BIO

Whether your musical needs require live drums, sound recording/mixing/editing, private coaching, adjudication, composing or arranging, Aaron has got you covered! Aaron Goins is a freelance performer, educator, arranger, and percussionist specializing in jazz drum-set based in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.

 

His areas of teaching expertise range from concert percussion, marching percussion (For both drumline and front ensemble), world percussion, and drum set. On the drum set, Aaron offers personalized instruction for a wide variety of genres, including (but not limited to) swing, bebop, funk, fusion, South American "latin" styles, and more.

 

Artists he has performed with include the likes of Veronica Swift, Sean Jones, James Morrison, Joe McCarthy, Nick Marchione, Melissa Aldana, Stefan Karlsson, Ashlin Parker, Jeff Gardner, and Wycliffe Gordon. He has obtained a bachelor's degree in jazz studies from the University of Texas at Arlington, and is currently pursuing a graduate performance certificate at UTA under Tim Ishii and Stockton Helbing.
